If you're a casual synth enthusiast, or a player/composer, probably not so much.

well, if deep diving and patching is something you enjoy. This is a program that I can see will be well worth the learning curve. Just that one differentiating capability is proof enough that all modular apps can coexist peacefully. Did you know you can't build a optimally correct resonant phaser in Drambo or miRack? Well Audulus can. But there's enough room for all these modular apps - they each excel in different areas. I can see why though, you're paying for those smooth animations and optional GUI elements (which ultimately allow you to visually design the instrument of your mind's eye). DSP is at about 23% for me on an old iPad Pro. Was a bit lost when I first opened the app, but no more than 3 minutes into beginner guide to Audulus 3.5 and I was up and patching in no time. My first impressions of Audulus 4 are great. Isn't it amusing that this entire rigamarole wouldn't have taken place if he had said "Audulus rules!". Stating your opinion as if it is fact is not "telling it like it is", imo. It’s not musical at all, it’s a total fail.įor many, it is a great app. If I would be interested in writing a doctoral thesis in low level DSP I would use audulus. I get something basic running and ready to play or sequence a musical idea in 5 seconds with Drambo. I use Drambo a lot, but for what I need modular, Audulus is my go.

And I can do what I have in mind more quickly and with more powerful modulation on Audulus. For me, it's a lot easier, A LOT easier understand Audulus. Maybe easier to get a synth out of Audulus than Rambo, but certainly not Drambo. In Audulus, you're "seeing" what is going on. Just kinda shocked it’s still so difficult for me, because like I said, I got along with A2 just fine. I agree with different strokes, and Audulus definitely isn’t for me anymore. This is a massive rewrite both with many new components, MIDI out nodes, and a lot of small but significant changes that won't mean much to people that are familiar with said: The active beta testers are mostly over on a discord chat. I don't think you can draw any conclusions about Audulus 4 from this thread and the participation or lack of it from Audulus beta testers. Seeing that no one of Beta testers the talks about any features leads me to the conclusion that there isn’t much to talk about. I have no idea about the quality or lack thereof of Audulus. One can design a lot of things in Audulus that you either couldn't do in Drambo or would be really cumbersome because Audulus will let you package your creation to expose just those controls of interest. Drambo is excellent AND so is Audulus - while there is some overlap - there are also some big differences. Audulus 4 can’t be much judging by this online bitchfest over nothing.Īre you saying that because some people don't like it, there must not be much to Audulus - or are you being facetious.įor those that feel the need to compare everything to Drambo.
